Mental training
Merijn gives mental training to players of LTA, parents and trainers. Besides that he has a great deal of experience as an occupational- and organisation psychologist, and as a career psychologist.
Psychologist
As a sport psychologist, he is in the unique position of being a top-class sportsman himself. He is accredited at the Assosiation for Sport Psychology in the Netherlands (VSPN). He gives mental training to sportsmen, trainers, teams and personnel of organisations and companies.
Work
Merijn also works with sporters in racket-, billiard-, swim-, fighting sports and golf. He's also involved in various team sports. Merijn gives courses in "mental skills" at the University of Wageningen, the Sport Centre of the Free University (VU) and the National University Amstelland.
Top sportsman
Since 1988, as a top table-tennis player Merijn has been selected several times to play for the Dutch team. He became 3rd best player of the Netherlands in 1994,1996, 2006 and 2007. He was 3rd at the National Masters in 1998, 2nd at the National Masters in 2008, and Dutch double champion in 1996.
